Teiva Systems worked with a cloud sustainability partner to demonstrate how sustainability insights can be built into the ServiceNow AI governance experience — connecting an AI system request and review flow with a dedicated Sustainability Assessment and dashboard, so environmental impact is visible at the point of AI decision-making.

Business Challenge

• Organizations need better visibility into the sustainability impact of AI as they assess and adopt new AI systems
• No existing way to bring the partner’s sustainability insights into the AI governance process so that sustainability is considered as part of AI system review and decision-making

The objective was to:

• Demonstrate the partner’s sustainability insights within ServiceNow AI Control Tower
• Introduce sustainability considerations into the AI system assessment flow
• Provide a dashboard for viewing sustainability information
• Demonstrate how AI provider, model, usage, and region can contribute to sustainability impact calculations

Solution

• Developed a ServiceNow-based app extending the AI system review experience with the partner’s sustainability information
• Built a dedicated Sustainability Assessment, sustainability dashboard, and supporting workflow
• Used sample data to demonstrate the concept, including calculated energy, water, and CO₂ impact
• Developed a custom map component to display sustainability information by country
